Ireland’s public sector has a significant influence on the marketplace which it is increasingly using to to stimulate the provision of more resource-efficient, less polluting goods, services and works.
The objective of Green Public Procurement (GPP) is to source goods, services or works with a reduced environmental impact, as the public sector has a responsibility to promote green procurement to support Ireland’s environmental and wider sustainable development objectives.
In support of Green Tenders ‒ an Action Plan on Green Public Procurement ‒ the Green Procurement Skills Development Zone will host a range of interactive training sessions focused on providing insights and outlining best practice as to how the public sector can manage the balance between cost-effectiveness, short-term and long-term value for money and sustainable development.
